The Anderson Personal Library

The Anderson Family Library consisted of more than 3,000 books, journal issues and pamphlets received from the estate of Alexander (Sandy) Anderson. Its contents revealed a sense of the breadth of interests of the family of John, Janet and Alexander ("Sandy") Anderson.

The Anderson core collection is contained in the University’s Rare Books and Special Collections Library. All of these works are listed in the Library catalogue under the call number Anderson.

A valuable collection of works on and about Georges Sorel received from Neil McInnes has also been located in Rare Books.

The rest of the collection is retained by the School of Philosophical and Historical Inquiry in Room S206 of the Quadrangle. There are also a few books in the University Archives which belonged to John Anderson.
