Leaves. — During the last drought, Mr. F. B. Guthrie analysed the leaves of this tree, with the view of ascertaining its fodder-value. Following is his result: —

   
Water.  Ash.  Fibre.  Ether Extract (Oil,&c)  Albuminoids.  Carbo-hydrates.  Nutrient value.  Albuminoid ratio.   Tannin (oak bark).
